Press release -

Your chance to shape social care and the budget

Residents are invited to help shape the future of adult social care and make their views known about Bury Council’s budget plans.

Both items are up for discussion when Whitefield and Unsworth Township Forum meets on Tuesday 17 January at the Elms Community Centre in Whitefield (start: 1pm).

Persona Care and Support, the new organisation which provides adult social care across the borough, will give a presentation. Locals are being invited to join a ‘stakeholder forum’ and have their say in drawing up priorities and on how services can be best provided.

Council officers, meanwhile, are bringing a budget road show to the forum. They will outline proposals to cut £32 million over the next three years, and want to hear the public’s views before setting the budget in February.

There will also be updates on the Town Plan, on neighbourhood working, and from the local police.

For more details, call forum co-ordinator Ruth Shedwick on 0161 253 5327 or email r.shedwick@bury.gov.uk
