CALM London

News   •   Nov 19, 2011 00:00 GMT

You might’ve seen the billboards across central London, or read about us in the Big Issue, the Metro or the Evening Standard. You might’ve even heard us talk on LBC news. CALM is now live in London.

Xmas and New Year can be a difficult time for many, and there aren’t much opportunities for young men in London to get support or just to unload their troubles somewhere. CALM, the campaign against living miserably, has launched a new helpline for inner London targeted at all young men offering support when they need it. CALM’s London help-line and texting service are open 7 nights a week, every week of the year – including Xmas and New Year.

Call 0808 802 5858 or text 07537 404717. Start your first text CALM1.

Lines are open everyday, 5pm-midnight. Calls are free, confidential and anonymous. Though our service is aimed at young men, CALM will take calls from anybody who needs to talk, regardless of age or gender.

CALMzine, CALM’s unique take on the young man’s music and fashion mag, has just been launched in London too. You can read it here www.theCALMzone.net/calmzine, or grab yourself a copy in London Topman branches or select music, sports and fashion venues and student unis across inner London. It’s a great read and comes out bimonthly, and if you’d like to get involved contact editor Rachel Clare, editor@theCALMzone.net.

And if you missed the launch party, check out the amazing video of our London CALMtakeover launch at Topman Oxford St on Friday 25th November –http://youtu.be/gNOmpui0YRc.

The London CALM has been funded by 4 inner London NHS PCTs (Westminster, Hammersith & Fulham, Kensington & Chelsea, Southwark), and City Bridge Trust to promote its service within these areas.
