Choice Hotels Europe Recognises its 2016 Best UK Franchised Hotels

LONDON. 04 NOVEMBER 2016 Choice Hotels Europe, the company behind the Comfort, Quality, Clarion and Ascend Hotel Collection brands here in Europe and part of Choice Hotels International, Inc., today announced that it has awarded:

• Comfort Hotel Great Yarmouth “UK Comfort Hotel of the Year”
• Quality Hotel Boldon “UK Quality Hotel of the Year”
• Clarion Collection Hotel “UK Clarion Hotel of the Year”

The three hotels were judged to be the best out of the Clarion, Quality and Comfort hotels operating throughout the UK in 2016. The winners were selected by reviewing each franchised property’s guest satisfaction and cleanliness scores and by demonstrating consistent brand performance. Peter Till, UK Managing Director, Choice Hotels Europe, commented, "Well done to the owners of these hotels and their staff on securing these awards. All are excellent examples of the calibre of hotels that make up our growing franchised hotel network in the UK and the rest of Europe.”

Charlene Scanlon, General Manager, Clarion Collection Hotel St Albans said, “We are thrilled to have been recognised as the leading Clarion hotel in the UK.”

Choice Hotels Europe has also awarded “UK General Manager of the Year” to Charlene Scanlon of Clarion Collection Hotel St Albans and Team Member of the year to Paul Debenham of Comfort Hotel Great Yarmouth. The General Manager and Team Member award winners are selected from nominations by their direct supervisors and owners at the franchised hotels, in response to specific questions relating to their work and collaboration with the Choice Hotels team and brands.

Quality Hotel Stoke City Centre was awarded Choice Privileges Hotel of the Year in recognition of its staff signing up the greatest number of new members to Choice’s award-winning loyalty programme.
