Cisco Trend Talk: The Future of Mobility

News   •   Feb 10, 2014 13:58 GMT

2013 marked the year when the number of connected devices overtook the number of people on Earth. With 54% of those devices ‘smart’, what does that mean for the way we interact with each other and the businesses around us?

Announced last week, the Cisco Global Mobile Visual Networking Index 2013-2018 (VNI) predicts that between now and 2018 mobile data will grow 11-fold, reaching an annual run-rate of 190 exabytes. But for the first time, it also models the impact of data traffic from wearable devices and the most prominent apps that are driving mobile data usage.

With mobile data traffic growing nearly three times faster than fixed, user behavior continues to reinforce the tremendous potential for innovation with mobility – whether it’s revolutionising how we interact with businesses or public services, or the creation of tools that completely change the workplace as we know it.  Which raises the question, how do organizations adapt to keep up with the way people expect to interact with them and what does the future of mobility look like in this application economy?

Join us on live on Wednesday 18th February at 10:00 GMT/11:00 CET to find out. We’ll be discussing the challenges and opportunities for businesses to innovate with Mobility and posing your questions to service provider Everything Everywhere, The English Football Association, industry analyst Chris Lewis and additional customers. Submit questions or follow the conversation using #CiscoTrendTalk.
