Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging extends support for veterinary clinics in Asia Pacific region

February 2017

Hallmarq Veterinary Imaging has appointed Brett Tapson to the position of Asia Pacific Support/Service Engineer. He will play a key role in the installation, service and support of equine and small animal MRIs in veterinary clinics across Australia, New Zealand and the Asia Pacific region.

Hallmarq is a global company, manufacturing veterinary specific advanced imaging machines for horses and companion animals. Its products include the world’s first standing Equine MRI and the 1.5T PetVet MRI for companion animals. The new appointment will ensure that veterinary hospitals treating some of the most challenging cases in the world will benefit from dedicated service and support when they need it. With offices in London, Boston and Sydney, Hallmarq is able to offer support across all global time zones.

Brett Tapson joins Hallmarq from a family run medical imaging company based in South Africa. He holds a Bachelor of science degree, has qualifications in project management and IT networking and has spent the past six years installing and supporting high field MRI, CT and X-Ray equipment across the African Continent.

Brett also has a great deal of experience in picture archiving and communication system (PACS) medical imaging technology and has implemented remote access PACS systems for cardiology and radiography practices.

The move from human medical to veterinary doesn’t pose any concerns for Brett, “The Hallmarq technology is really impressive. Much of it is totally bespoke to the veterinary profession but the machines also use very high quality components used in human MRI. I’m looking forward to working with some of the region’s top veterinary hospitals, playing my part in helping them to deliver best in class care.”

Dr. Jos Belgrave, Hallmarq’s CEO, says the new appointment underlines the company’s commitment to its customers, “We very much work in partnership with clinics. Our multi-skilled and multilingual team of veterinary, biomedical and physics graduates provide support, upgrades, training and continuous monitoring. Brett’s expertise will complement the services we provide remotely.”
