Costa Coffee today announces the identities of the six finalists shortlisted for the 2013 Costa Short Story Award. Remarkably, given that the competition was judged anonymously (ie without the identities of the authors being known) and with over 1400 entries received this year, it can be revealed that two of this year’s final six writers were also shortlisted last year.
Costa has been named the Nation’s Favourite Coffee Shop for its fourth consecutive year after industry experts Allegra published their annual Project Cafe13 UK report for 2013.

After hearing that Rossendale Valley Junior football club had never had their own kit, and instead had been relying on hand-me-downs, the two Costa stores stepped in to provide the new club kit.
Costa stores in Rossendale and nearby Rawtenstall have also provided the team with a meeting point pre and post match, and regularly give out complimentary ‘Babyccinos’ to the team’s players. After a game, the ‘man of the match’ can also come into either store and claim a free cake and drink.
“When we heard that Rossendale Juniors had never had their own kit, we knew that we wanted to do something to help. We’re hoping that the new kit will lead the under 12s to victory in this year’s league!” said Chris Napier, Retail Development Manager at Costa Coffee.
