On Monday 8th August, 12 Dreams staff members will embark on an 88 mile bike ride, visiting eight stores in eight hours, in aid of Dreams’ charity partner, The Fostering Network.
This year, Dreams has announced it has chosen ‘The Fostering Network’ to be its nominated charity for 2016. The Fostering Network is the UK’s leading fostering charity and aims to improve the lives of children living in foster care.
To launch the partnership, 12 members of Dreams staff from across the country have volunteered to take part in a bike ride to raise money for the charity. The bike ride, led by Dreams CEO Mike Logue, will begin at Dreams Bedquarters in High Wycombe and will see the team travel 88 miles visiting eight stores within eight hours. The number eight theme is driven by the fact that the ride takes place on the anniversary of Dreams’ successful ‘Replace Every Eight’ marketing campaign.
Mike Logue, CEO at Dreams says: “I'm delighted our charity partner is The Fostering Network and already so many of our team around the UK are getting involved. Our biggest fund raiser to date will be our 88 mile bike ride on Monday the 8th, and although I'm sure we won't win any records for speed, I'm sure we can set a new Dreams record for money raised for a great cause.”
Jackie Sanders, director of public affairs at The Fostering Network, said: “Dreams are making phenomenal efforts to challenge themselves to raise much needed funds for The Fostering Network as we help transform fostered children’s lives. We’re thrilled at the commitment and dedication by Dreams and their staff to helping us continue our vital work in supporting foster carers and the tens of thousands of children they give their lives to caring for. We wish them every success on this adventure, and for all their activities to come.”
