East Staffordshire Borough Council to support mental health awareness week 2014.

Continuing its commitment to the Healthy Borough initiative East Staffordshire Borough Council is pleased to announce they will be supporting Mental Health Awareness Week from 12th-16th May 2014, by offering local residents the opportunity to attend a variety of healthy activities across the Borough.


Active Adults: Zumba Gold

Zumba is a Latin inspired dance fitness programme that is easy to do, effective, totally exhilarating and great fun. Zumba Gold takes the Zumba formula, modifies the moves and pacing to suit the needs of the active older participant. Date: Monday 12th May

Location: Kingstone Village Hall, Nr. Uttoxeter ST14 8QN

Time: 10.00am - 11.00am


Health Walks

Walking is one of the best forms of exercise to improve your health. Our Health Walks are great for anyone who wants to improve their health, available a variety of locations throughout East Staffordshire. All the walks are led by qualified and friendly leaders and provide an excellent opportunity to socialise while improving your health.

Date: Tuesday 13th May

Location: Stapenhill Gardens Band Stand, Stapenhill Road, Burton up on Trent DE15 9AP

Women’s Beginners Running

Regardless of your age (16+), fitness level, aspiration or background you can be a part of Run England and benefit from being a part of England's running community.

Date: Wednesday 14th May

Location: Burton Rugby Club, 31 Lichfield Street, Burton up on Trent DE14 3RH

Time: From 7.30pm


Healthy Lifestyle Advice Session

Drop in for a chat with the NHS Waistlines Team for comprehensive lifestyle advice on how eating well and leading an active life can help improve your health.

Date: Tuesday 13th May

Location: Meadowside Leisure Centre Foyer, High Street, Burton up on Trent DE14 1TL
