Local Ride Leader supports the ‘Hero Ride’

East Staffordshire Borough Council is working with British Cycling to once again bring the Sky ride local bike rides to East Staffordshire. The schedule is now available on booking is required and can be done through this website. If this activity has encouraged you to take part why not come along and give one of our sessions a go?’

Following on the success of last year’s Skyride Programme, ESBC’s Sports Development Team Leader, Neil Brown volunteered to support and take part in the Help for Hero’s ‘Hero Ride’ event in London on Sunday 2nd June.

The Hero Ride culminated in London on Sunday 2nd June when cyclists from all corners of the country and abroad which included 300 riding from Paris, 250 riding the Dawn Raid Sportive as well as hundreds who organised their own bike ride, met in Blackheath and from there rode together into central London.

Neil Brown said: ‘The whole event was a great experience and one not to be missed. Everyone was cycling for the Help for Hero’s Charity and it was a pleasure to be involved’.

Councillor Bernard Peters, Deputy Leader for Service Commissioning, said: ‘The Help for Heroes is an extremely worthwhile Charity. The Hero Ride was a fantastic way to show the support and gratitude that the nation has for its wounded and fallen hero’s.
