East Staffordshire Borough Council are welcoming children aged 5-9 years to come and improve their cycling skills by attending a Bikeability course - 'cycling proficiency' for the 21st Century!
During Level 1 Bikeability training, children will learn to control and master their bike. The training takes place in an environment away from cars or traffic – at Shobnall Leisure Complex. Children will gain basic cycle control skills including starting and pedalling; stopping; manoeuvring; signalling and
using the gears on your bike.
Councillor Bernard Peters, Deputy Leader for Service Commissioning, said: “If you're thinking about getting out on your bike, why not complete a Bikeability course? Safety on the roads is paramount and the Bikeability courses help children on their way to becoming competent and safe bike riders. It's fun and gives you the skills and confidence to cycle in modern road conditions”.
East Staffordshire Borough Council are offering the following Bikeability courses as part of the DASH summer holiday programme:
Wednesday 21st August 10.30am-12.30pm
