Residents in Uttoxeter and the surrounding areas are now being given another opportunity to have their say on the latest design plans proposals for the future of the Council-run Leisure centre in the town.
Residents and users will be able to come along to the Centre on Wednesday 3rd July 6.00pm – 9.00pm and Thursday 4th July 9.00am – 5.00pm to offer their suggestions and provide feedback on the Architect’s drawings.
Officers from the Council alongside the Council’s appointed Architects and Design Team will be on hand to answer questions regarding the proposals for leisure provision in Uttoxeter.
Following these next consultation events, the Council will look to commence with the final detailed design work ahead of appointing contractors to carry out the refurbishment.
Councillor Bernard Peters, Deputy Leader for Service Commissioning, said: “We are keen to put the lessons learned from the refurbishment of Burton’s Meadowside Leisure Centre into practice with the
redevelopment of Uttoxeter Leisure Centre. The result of this process will be to create a modern facility that will be attractive to existing users and also attract new members from Uttoxeter and the surrounding towns and villages.
“The proposals must, however, be right both for the Council and for residents and the people who regularly use the centre, which is why I would encourage as many people as possible to get involved with this consultation and let us know whatthey think of the design we have laid out and what they want from their leisure facilities."
