East Staffordshire Borough Council has revised its Statement of Community Involvement as part of its
ongoing work supporting the preparation of the new Local Plan and in reaction to new legislation such as the Localism Act 2011.
The Statement of Community Involvement covers the whole of the Borough and sets out the Council’s approach in how it consuls the community and various stakeholders who have an interest in both the Local Plan and the planning applications delivery team.
The Council is particularly keen to increase the awareness of planning and use new social media techniques to involve groups and people that would not normally get involved.
The Council therefore invites comments to the Revised Statement of Community Involvement document where copies are available to view online at www.eaststaffsbc.gov.uk as well as hard copies being available at the Council’s Customer Service Centres including the libraries at Burton upon Trent, Uttoxeter and Barton under Needwood and the mobile libraries.
Any comments can be made via the public consultation system http://eaststaffsbc-consult.limehouse.co.uk/portal, emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or put in writing to the Planning Policy Section, Regulatory Services, The Maltsters, Wetmore Road, Burton upon Trent, DE14 1LS.
