Key new appointments at ellenor

ellenor has made two key appointments. Cheri Strudwick, who has worked as Marketing and Development Manager at the Assembly Hall Theatre in Tunbridge Wells for the past eight years, has joined as its Head of Marketing and Communications, while Gary Taylor has come onboard as Head of Retail.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Cheri to our team,” says Rachel Holweger, Director of Income Generation at ellenor. “Due to her work at the Assembly Hall, she is extremely well known in and around Tunbridge Wells, which is a key area for our children’s hospice at home care team. With Cheri onboard, we look forward to raising our profile further in that area and across North West Kent and Bexley, where we know there are many more families ellenor could be supporting with our vital hospice care.”

In her previous role, Cheri not only promoted the Assembly Hall Theatre, but also Tunbridge Wells’ popular Christmas ice rink. A member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, Cheri has also worked for both British Airways and Virgin Atlantic Airways.

“I am delighted to have joined ellenor and I am very much looking forward to working alongside all the teams that provide care and support to patients, carers and their families,” says Cheri. “I took the decision to join ellenor, as working locally and being able to see the immediate impact and results of everyone’s commitment and hard work is very important to me.”

She adds: “If you would like to speak to me directly, have any ideas or suggestions, or would like to support ellenor please contact me on tel: 01474 320007.”

Gary Taylor has 30 years experience in retail and, for the past 20 years, has worked as an area manager for stores including New Look, Matalan and TK Maxx. He has also worked on the retail side with a national charity.

“The role intrigued me and, with my experience, I already feel very much at home,” says Gary. “I’ve enjoyed visiting all of ellenor’s 16 shops and getting to know all the managers and volunteers – it’s obvious that I’ve joined a fantastic team. I’m looking forward to supporting the whole team, so we can continue to grow the income ellenor makes from its retail division.”

Gary says he’s impressed by the variety of different shops ellenor offers – including those in Westerham and Tunbridge Wells, which hold regular vintage and designer sales.

“We are excited to have secured both Gary and Cheri and are looking forward to working together to ultimately provide even more care to families that need our support across Kent,” says Rachel.
