Finegreen Associates have been engaged by a Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust who are currently looking to appoint four Consultant Physicians at their local hospitals – two covering Elderly Care and two for Acute Medicine.  These posts form part of their expansion strategy to deliver a very vibrant and comprehensive set of services to meet the needs of their local residents.

Their approach to delivering key health services for their local residents is to “Strive for Excellence” and be in the top 10% in the country in everything they do.  It is clear to them as an organisation that they can only achieve this be recruiting top quality clinicians, who will be their future clinical leaders.  In addition they are investing significantly in clinical engagement through a nationally recognised programme of “Listening into Action”.  To deliver a very exciting future reconfiguration for vibrant and sustainable services they realise the important of expanding and investing in their workforce.

The Acute Medicine postholders will also work as a member of a larger team at Pinderfields or Dewsbury Hospital – covering Acute Assessment and Short Stay Units, and will be involved in up-scaling the new Emergency Ambulatory Care Unit, along with other acute support as required.  Those with training in acute/GIM interest who have or wish to develop a subspecialty interest will be actively encouraged to apply and this will be accommodated.
The successful candidates will be working at one of the fastest improving Acute Trusts in the country, serving half a million people living in the Wakefield, North Kirklees and surrounding areas. 

This includes a ground-breaking ED Department with 24 hour consultant cover, and effectively integrated community care and health services developed through excellent relationships with local commissioners and GP’s.  The Trust will provide leadership and development support for those who wish to contribute to shape the future of these services.

Candidates should possess or be within 6 months of receiving a CCT at the time of the Advisory Appointments Committee.
