Nokia's new President and CEO Rajeev Suri has named networks, location services and intellectual property licencing as three strategic building blocks for its future.
Newly appointed CEO and President Rajeev Suri joined Nokia in 1995 and has held a wide range of leadership positions in the company. Prior to appointment he worked as chief executive officer of Nokia Siemens Network which is now fully owned by Nokia. According to Rajeev Suri Nokia's strategy is to develop its three businesses in order to realize its vision of being a technology leader in a connected world.
Nokia's investments in networks business will focus on mobile broadband and related services. Currently they serve more than 90 of the world's 100 largest telecom operators. Furthermore HERE, the location business of Nokia will target its investments in technology for smart cars, cloud-based location services and location-based analytics. They also plan to further develop their technologies business by investing and expanding its intellectual property licensing.
