Nokia's global debut with Sky and Microsoft in pay-TV services on Nokia Lumia phones

The collaboration of Nokia, Microsoft and Sky Italia will make pay-TV service on the go available for all Windows Phone 8 Nokia Lumia devices in Italy.

According to Nokia's Press release, all three companies have announced the global debut on Windows Phone of Sky Go, the service that allows users to view 30 pay-TV channels on the go. "Thanks to this agreement, one of the most loved applications - already chosen by 1.9 million Sky subscribers - will be coming to the entire Nokia Lumia family in Italy starting from the middle of December."

"This partnership will boost customers' chances to access their favourite programs on devices such as the new Nokia Lumia", said Remo Tebaldi, Customer & Product Marketing Manager Sky.

"Nokia and Microsoft have strong foothold in Italian markets." According to Nokia, Lumia phones are “increasingly widespread in Italy”. Additionally, Microsoft says that its mobile operating system has become second largest in Italy in the third quarter of 2013.
