Startup Sauna, the university business incubator based in Espoo, Finland, has been named the top young university business incubator for 2013 by UBI index. This category recognizes exceptional performance by an incubator with less than 5 years of operations.
The index measures participating incubators on an assessment framework with over 50 performance indicators. The ranking is based on the assessment framework which shows how much value participating incubators create for their ecosystem and their clients.
The rankings in the index are based on an in-depth study of 150 university business incubators in 22 countries. This year, the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship, based at Rice University in Houston, Texas, won the top global university business incubator title.
