Press release -

Norwegian Peppe's Pizza goes Oumph!

Peppe's Pizza, Scandinavia's largest pizza chain with 76 restaurants, is now launching a plant-based menu including two different Oumph! pizzas and a burger. They are also adding Oumph! as an option for the guests who want to choose their topping themselves.

– It is great to see big chains such as Peppe's Pizza investing in more plant-based on the menu. Peppe's already had good vegetarian pizzas; that they now are launching a number of awesome completely vegan options is impressive, says Carl Montelius, Head of Customer Relations at Swedish Food for Progress, the producer of Oumph!

The two pizzas launched at Peppe's Pizza on April 25 are Californian Oumph! and Chicago Oumph!

California Oumph! features a thin pizza crust and is topped with Pulled Oumph!, chilli aioli, tomato, red onion and leek.

Chicago Oumph! features a thick crust and is topped with Pulled Oumph!, chili aioli, mushrooms, red onion, leek and a twist of lime and pepper.

– We are very proud of the new additions to the menu. These are delicious and climate-smart pizzas that everyone can eat, whether they are meat eaters or vegan, says Anne-Katrine Ertesvåg Aa, Product Manager at Peppe's Pizza.

The pizzas are completely vegan. Instead of cheese, they are topped with a lovely plant-based chili aioli and, to avoid contamination, the pizzas are not sliced in the kitchen.

The two pizzas come in two sizes at NOK 168 and NOK 288 respectively. The small size is available gluten free at a supplement of NOK 10.

The pizzas are included in Peppe's “Meat free Monday,” when all vegetarian – and now vegan – pizzas are sold at a reduced price. Then the large one costs NOK 198 and the small one NOK 98. Oumph! will also be available as an option in the “Very Special” pizza, where the guests choose their topping themselves.

The new dishes will be launched on 25 April in all restaurants. In addition to the pizzas, Peppe's also launches a plant-based wheat burger.

Norwegian Peppe's Pizza is Scandinavia's largest pizza chain with 76 restaurants and approximately 1,800 employees. Peppe's sells over 3.5 million pizzas a year or 20,000 meals a day.
