​GTR creates more parking space at Biggleswade station

Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) is pleased to announce there will be improvements to the car park at Biggleswade station.

Following public demand, the main car park a short walk away from the station, on Station Road, will be completely upgraded to include a new surface, clear walking routes, larger bay sizes and over 50 new spaces bringing the total spaces available to more than 200.

To allow the work to be completed as safely and quickly as possible it will be necessary to close the car park from 8-24 March. GTR, which operates Great Northern and Thameslink services from the station, is advising passengers to plan ahead their parking for this period, and consider alternative stations for parking such as Arlesey and Hitchin.

GTR’s Lead Facilities and Development Manager Karl McCormack said: “This project will bring real benefits to our customers at Biggleswade. There has been strong demand for car parking spaces, and we’ve had lots of feedback from customers of the need for the existing spaces to be larger so that people can get in and out more easily.”

During the work passengers can still be dropped off and picked up at the station entrance, and the small number of parking spaces close to the front of the station will remain.
