Network Rail apologises for overrunning engineering work

Overrunning engineering work between Horsham and Arundel is affecting services across Southern today, including on the coastway routes along which services have been diverted.

A Network Rail spokesperson said: “In the early hours of this morning, an engineering train working to maintain the track broke down. This means that trains have not been able to run between Horsham and Arundel so far this morning.

“We are very sorry for the disruption caused to passengers and our engineers are working to reopen the line as quickly as possible.”

Passengers should check with Southern or National Rail Enquiries for the latest travel advicehttp://www.nationalrail.co.uk/service_disruptions/today.aspx
