Train operator Southern is asking passengers who had season tickets last year to check if they may be eligible for compensation, under a scheme launched by the Department of Transport.
Passengers on Southern and Gatwick Express have been warned to expect services to be severely disrupted tomorrow, Thursday 15 December, following today’s drivers’ strike and the ASLEF union’s on-going refusal to allow drivers to work overtime.
Commenting on the RMT’s latest round of strike dates, Angie Doll, GTR’s Passenger Services Director, said: “The RMT’s desire to heap yet further travel misery on the public and affect the everyday lives of so many people is shameful."
GTR, the parent company of Southern trains, today vowed to move forward with modernisation plans after the latest talks at Acas with the RMT ended without agreement.
Govia Thameslink Railway’s (GTR) proposals to settle the conductors’ dispute and avert next week’s five- day long strike were today rejected by RMT.
