We've got Great Taste!

We're excited to announce that our very own Origins Rainforest Alliance Espresso has been awarded a Great Taste star!

Described as the Oscars of the speciality food and drink world, it's not easy to impress the Great Taste panel. Judged by over 400 of the most demanding palates, including food critics, chefs and a host of food writers and journalists, Great Taste is widely acknowledged as the most respected food accreditation scheme for artisan and speciality food producers. 

Which is why our Great Taste star is an incredible achievement for us.

With our star signifying a 'Simply Delicious' taste, here is the verdict on our Origins Espresso…(drum roll please!)…

"The cocoa is very much perceptible on the nose and through to the mouth. It is a comforting cup of rich, full coffee."

Origins was launched only last year, so to receive this award in its fledgling year is absolutely fantastic.

But it's not just the taste that sets us apart. For each bag sold, we make a direct donation to Coffee Kids, a non-governmental organisation dedicated to improving the lives of coffee farmers and their families. This, alongside the 'Simply Delicious' flavour, was what impressed the Great Taste panel.

As Coffee Kids explains, "Since they first started giving in 2004, GreenCup coffee has donated more than £12,000 to Coffee Kids. This generosity has an incredible impact on the lives of those very people upon whom we rely for our morning cup. We couldn't be more thankful of their support."

Jeff Barnacle, National Sales Director for GreenCup, is over-the-moon with the result: "We work hard to create the very best taste, so to receive this incredible review and the coveted Great Taste star is something we can all be proud of. The fact that the judges also acknowledged our commitment to Coffee Kids is an achievement in itself, and we'll continue to support what is an extremely worthwhile cause whilst making the very best coffee possible!"
