28 hours, torrential rain and 62 miles across the South Downs- Heroic stuff!

Congratulations to Vi and Hilary who completed the Oxfam Trailwalker at the weekend walking through the weather and the night to complete the challenge- in their own words:

"Well we did it, we finished the Trailwalker challenge in 28 hours - we finished 1044, 1045 and 1046 out of 2,200 entrants, so were very pleased with that, especially as just under 1/3 of all entrants failed to complete the course, not surprising given the absolutely appalling conditions, which were unbelievable –  we had already had masses of rain prior to the event and it rained for most of the day and night on Saturday and still wasn't finished on Sunday, although the sun did finally come out as we walked onto Brighton Racecourse at the very end of the walk – good for our finishing photos at least!  Everywhere was a sea of mud and it was quite treacherous underfoot - still we survived and feel tremendously proud of our achievements – just a few aches and pains and the odd blister but nothing too onerous."

Healthspan were happy to be able to help Violet and Hilary meet the cost of some of their equipment and hiring a support vehicle which met them at various points along the way to keep them going throughout- the photo above was taken before the Trailwalker... and the rain!
