A quick reminder to all of our clients that the Australian Terrorism Reinsurance Contributions are due to increase from the 1st April 2016. The increases are as follows: - Tier A 12% to 16% - Tier B 4% to 5.3% - Tier C 2% to 2.6%

HMRC have released details on the transitional period for the latest IPT increase. The new rate will be due on insurance premiums received on or after the 1st October 2016, excluding certain contracts of insurers on the special accounting scheme. From the 1st February 2017, all premiums will be taxed at the increased 10.00% rate, regardless of when the contract was entered into.

Confirmed today in George Osborne’s latest budget, the standard Insurance Premium Tax rate in the UK will increase again from 9.50% to 10.00%. We are monitoring developments closely and will provide details on timings and the transitional period as soon as possible.

We can confirm that from the 1st January 2016 the INAMI rate applicable to policies covering Accidents at Work has decreased to 3.81%. This is made up of a combination of a 3.75% insured tax and an additional 0.06% insurer tax.
