Polish passenger operator PKP Intercity have unveiled the design and title of their high speed pendolino trains. The state-of-the-art "Express Intercity Premium" trains are the fruits of a deal with Alstom and were built at the French company's Savigliano site in Italy.
The trains will be operational from December 2014 and will link major Polish cities including Warsaw, Krakow and Wroclaw, from North to South, at speeds of up to 250km/h. The project is a vital part of a wider upgrade of the Polish transport industry and infrastructure.
The Express Intercity Premium carriages will offer a faster, more comfortable and safer experience to all. Split into three classes, with their own separate but complementary design, the modern carriages will feature facilities geared to business people, families and the disabled, including soundproofing, bicycle hangers, individual power sources and instructions in braille.
Mr. Marcin Celejewski, member of the management board at PKP Intercity will be a VIP guest at International Rail Infrastructure and Technology Summit (IRITS) 2013. Mr. Celejewski will take part in procurement meetings and various networking functions at the event, taking place in Berlin on 6-8 November 2013. For further information, visit www.irits.org.
