International Railway Journal (IRJ) and IRITS Events Ltd are delighted to announce that the headquarters of the International Union of Railways (UIC) will be the venue for the 4th International Railway Summit, taking place on 15-17 February 2017 in Paris.
During the course of the three-day summit, the UIC headquarters in central Paris, a short walk from the River Seine and iconic Eiffel Tower, will welcome rail industry leaders from across the globe. Delegates will represent the full breadth of the rail industry, including operators, infrastructure owners, national and local governments, rolling stock manufacturers and solution providers. Pre-arranged one-to-one consultation meetings and IRJ-produced conference sessions will take place in UIC’s main function rooms, which boast state-of-the-art technology.
UIC will be a Special Partner for the summit and the organisation’s Director General Jean-Pierre Loubinoux will provide a keynote presentation. Mr Loubinoux will also take part in a panel discussion, a Q&A session and networking functions throughout the summit.
Delegates will stay at the chic, newly renovated Hotel Pullman Paris Tour Eiffel, located 100m from UIC headquarters on the Left Bank. The hotel, which enjoys stunning views of the Trocadéro and Eiffel Tower, will also host the welcome reception and dinner on the evening of 15 February.
UIC represent the railway community, encompassing 1 million km of infrastructure and the 7 million members of staff who serve the passengers of the world. UIC aim to promote rail transport at a global level, increasing mobility and ensuring sustainable development. Various aspects of UIC’s work are summarised in a new video ‘UIC at a glance’.
Mr Loubinoux commented: “I’m particularly pleased that UIC, the platform recognized at the worldwide level for technical exchanges, can host such an event. I’m also pleased to welcome this summit and to participate with our members and partners.
“Through its well-balanced agenda, presentations from keynote speakers, panel discussions and the bilateral contacts with very senior executives from within, and external to, the rail sector, this event is a particularly interesting one and I look forward to personally welcoming very many of you to Paris and exchanging on a wide range of topical subjects with you.”

International Railway Summit is a meeting of senior executives representing the world’s key rail operators, rail infrastructure management companies, national and local governments, rolling stock manufacturers and a wide range of solution providers.
International Railway Summit provides a 'matchmaking' service between rail industry leaders ('buyers') and technical experts ('suppliers'), based on buyer delegates' project requirements and the proven expertise of large and small suppliers that we have carefully handpicked. Based on this matchmaking, buyer delegates attend one-to-one consultation sessions with suitable suppliers during the annual summit.
In addition to the one-to-one meetings, delegates also attend a conference programme given by key industry leaders and experts and network over lunches and dinners with their counterparts and industry colleagues from all over the world. International Railway Summit is co-hosted by International Railway Journal and IRITS Events and will take place on 15-17 February 2017 in Paris, France.
