New affordable homes programme announced:

Housing Minister Kris Hopkins has announced that a programme to build "up to 165,000 new affordable homes over 3 years" is an indispensible part of the government's long term economic plan.

Latest index reveals national rental prices have increased across the UK:

The latest rental index has disclosed that UK National monthly rents rose 8% annually in December to £763, despite a "seasonal dip of 2% on month".

Furthermore, the data from Sequence revealed  that the amount of new tenancies rose 13% annually, thus illustrating the strength of the market in contrast to last year,

The boss of the world's second largest estate agent has declared that London has become the property "safe haven of the world".

However, Christian Ulbrich, European chief executive of Jones Lang LaSalle, added that parts of the city are at risk of becoming "ghost towns" as once overseas investors buy properties  they sometimes  leave them empty.
