Planned overnight construction work from 23rd October 2017

As part of the ongoing improvement works it is necessary to carry out further construction work overnight during a period commencing 23rd October 2017.

The work involves the erection of new steel work to the side of, and above the existing Immigration Hall to the rear of the airport. This involves craning large steel beams into position directly above the existing Immigration Hall. For health and safety reasons this work cannot be carried out when staff and members of the public will be present.

• The work is scheduled to commence from October 23rd and should be completed by November 23rd.

• The works will be for a maximum of 3 hours per night, dependent on incoming and outgoing flights

• The work involves the use of cranes, pneumatic tools and hand tools

To mitigate against any noise pollution we will be undertaking the heavy and noisiest activities at the beginning or end of the shift. We will keep all vehicle movements to a minimum and delivery of the steel will be during the daytime where possible. We will also be monitoring the noise levels in the surrounding areas during this period.

The work is permitted under our current planning permission and Luton Borough Council has been notified of these works.

Whilst we don’t anticipate significant noise pollution from these activities, we have written to 2,500 neighbouring households to notify them of these works.

If you have any further questions or queries, please contact our noise line on 01582 395 382 or email: info@ltn.aero
