This year’s Follow the Frog campaign will be bigger, better and longer than ever before. As the campaign steps up a gear, the Rainforest Alliance has teamed up with the Guardian, which will now see Follow the Frog lasting a full 10 months!
The overall aim of Follow the Frog 2014/15, alongside the Guardian, is to raise awareness of the importance of mindful consumption. From deforestation to water quality, from alleviating poverty to the role of women in agriculture, a diverse range of subjects will be covered to inform and inspire everyone that we're all vital to a better tomorrow.
To kick-start the activities, the Rainforest Alliance held a blogger event at our very own HEJ cafe, Powered by Löfbergs. Löfbergs UK welcomed journalists and bloggers through the door, serving delicious Rainforest Alliance Certified coffee (of course!) alongside some fika treats. It was the perfect environment for people to speak with Rainforest Alliance staff, who play an integral role in the agriculture programme. It’s clear these passionate ambassadors are dedicated to making the Rainforest Alliance dream a reality, working directly with farmers to help improve and sustain their livelihood.
Rainforest Alliance were delighted to get the opportunity to share this important date with such a longstanding supporter of the charity, and a dedicated speech was given to thank Löfbergs for their ongoing contribution.
"It is due to the commitment of companies like Löfbergs and their sourcing of coffee from Rainforest Alliance Certified farms that we are able to continue our work in coffee lands around the world. More importantly, it’s the fact that they want to do business differently – responsibly and sustainably – that transforms the lives of coffee farmers and their families. HEJ Coffee is a great example, not only in the coffee they serve but in their whole approach – right down to the upcycling of used coffee grounds to make the tables from which you enjoy such great coffee."
