Breakthrough! Do miracles happen today? An extraordinary story of survival and hope.

Last year Mas.s was battling for his life before lifesaving neck artery operations. Preceded by a 24 year long struggle of re-occurring mouth cancer and various TIA's. He has been invited to exhibit  in a prestigious art fair in Switzerland in June, a global art competition in the heart of the Tuscany in September and a blessing from the Vatican on his work. He only started painting 9 months ago.

He says "I am truly amazed. I started to paint all the things I saw in my mind and experienced in my heart only last august  after being stimulated by my family. And progressed in earnest only at the start of this year. Innitially giving paintings to my friends as a gift. It was only then that I saw that people were touched by the imagery and the message". 

This makes him truly unique, there is a message of hope and important lifelessons to be learned in almost every painting he produced, over 75 to date.

He produces this art in a truly unique style. An art critic described it as follows "I like your work and I feel that you create a universe from a viewpoint of peace and tranquillity. I find your works to be expressive and passionate while delicate in shape and composition. I very much like "Faces" in relation to the colours and execution but also for the concept that you are able to communicate so eloquently. I personally believe that your work can be defined as "Art of the Mind" but also as "Art of the Spirit", as I think that you touch upon ideas and sentiments that are important and too often neglected. From seeing examples of your work, it seems that your paintings are able speak to and intrigue the viewer" and "I would like to personally extend my congratulations on your artistic merit"

"I am still getting to terms with this unexpected upsurge in interest and compliments. All I want to do is sharing the gift of life with all its colours and variations with the world, every time I touch the canvas with my brush I embark on another journey of beauty and goodness. I do not see it as "my work and merit" but as a gift to be shared."

He goes on, " Because of my illnesses I lost my business and the substantial wealth that went with it. An epic journey in its own right. I left Holland where we experienced corruption, fraud, betrayal, persecution, isolation in an unimaginable way but we feel truly at home in London now". The place where he started his very succesful international career in the food business almost 30 years ago. Wishing to start a new life. And a new life it is.

He says "I will just continue to embark on this new road, I do not know where it will lead, I can not deny any longer that all the suffering and pain was for a reason. Turning into this gift which needs to be shared with many." Art from the heart with a desire to enriching people's lives.

5 of his works will be shown at GZ-artbasel and 3 of his works will be shown in Chinchiano Art Festival.
