Merlin says ‘NO TO LYCRA’ in Big Seaside Pootle

Merlin is ditching the Lycra in a more casual approach to the London to Brighton charity cycle ride this September. The charity is looking for participants for the ‘Big Seaside Pootle’, where cyclists will enjoy a more relaxed saunter to the coast, with scheduled stops at local pubs serving traditional ale and ice cream instead of the usual Lycra infested race.

Merlin has become a founding charity partner of Jaro - a new global game for good aiming to raise a billion dollars for charitable causes. Jaro is asking people to help raise US$1 billion and decide how to split it between charitable causes and one lucky winner. The decision is entirely in the public’s hands.

t’s been lurking there as an ambition for as long as I can remember. An annual fixture in my childhood, being glued to the telly, marvelling at the swarms of runners parading past London landmarks in front of cheering crowds.
