We have issued a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to in connection with a robbery in Wirral on Saturday 2 February.

Just before 6.30pm, officers were called to the Shell Garage, Hoylake Road, Moreton to reports a male had entered the garage and made demands for cash.

A female cashier was hurt in the incident and received hospital treatment after the offender jumped over the counter and attacked her. The woman was thrown to the floor before being stamped on, punched and kicked. The offender also threatened the woman with a syringe.

The male is described as having fair hair, wearing a blue jacket, black backpack, black scarf and black trainers. The offender left the scene on a black mountain bike with a quantity of cash.

CCTV enquiries are ongoing in the local area.

Detective Inspector Mike Dalton: "We would like to trace the male pictured in the CCTV as we believe he has information which could assist our investigation.

“I would ask anyone who recognises him to contact us as a matter of urgency.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC, call 101, or @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111 quoting references 0727 of 2 February.
