CCTV appeal following robbery in Belle Vale in January

Detectives investigating a robbery in Belle Vale have issued CCTV images of a male they believe could have information to assist their enquiries.

At around 11.30pm on Wednesday, 30 January, it was reported that a 22-year-old man was stood outside McDonalds on Childwall Valley Road when a male approached him and asked to use his phone. The male then made threats to use a weapon before making off with the victim’s bike and a quantity of cash. No weapon was seen and the victim was not injured. The male is reported to have ridden off towards Hedgefield Road.

CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.

Detective Inspector Paul Speight said: "We are particularly keen to trace the male pictured as we believe he may have vital information to assist our investigation.

"Thankfully the victim was uninjured, but was left shaken by the incident. I would ask anyone who witnessed the incident, recognises the male pictured, or the bike, or has any dashcam footage to please get in touch.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact @MerPolCC or 101 with reference 19100030746 or you can speak to the independent charity @CrimestoppersUK anonymously on 0800 555 111.
