Crosby man arrested at Manchester Airport on suspicion of arson in Bootle last week

Detectives investigating a suspected arson at a house in Bootle last Friday (21 June) have arrested a man in connection with the offence.

At around 3am, officers and crews from Mersey Fire and Rescue Service attended at a property in Norfolk Close. Fire and smoke damage was caused to the house and also a Ford Focus car parked outside. The occupants of the house were able to get out of the property and there were no reported injuries.

Following enquiries, a 26-year-old man from Crosby was arrested at Manchester Airport yesterday (Tuesday 25 June) on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and possession with intent to supply Class A drugs.
A 17-year-old male from Litherland was separately arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply controlled drugs following a warrant at an address in Walton.

Both have been taken to police stations for questioning.
