Death in West Derby not being treated as suspicious

Merseyside Police can confirm the death of a man in West Derby on Tuesday afternoon (25 September 2019) is not being treated a suspicious. 

Officers were called to park land off Mab Lane at around 2.30pm following reports that a man had suffered a gunshot wound. 
 
Police and the North West Ambulance Service attended the scene where a man was found to be unresponsive and he was pronounced dead by paramedics.

A firearm was recovered from the scene and is being forensically examined.

The man’s death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

Specialist family liaison officers are supporting the family and the deceased has been formally identified.
