Delivery van targeted in tobacco theft

Merseyside Police are currently investigating a theft from a delivery vehicle this morning (5th July) on Page Moss Lane, Liverpool.

The delivery driver was reportedly approached at 9.15am by three men on foot, who verbally threatened him before demanding the contents of the van. Here, they are believed to have made off with a large quantity of cigarettes and tobacco.

The men left on foot towards Huyton Village before being seen getting in a car, parked nearby on Dinas Lane.

Detective Inspector Steve Ball said: "They are described as wearing dark clothing, hats, hoodies, black trainers and black coats. Luckily the driver or passenger of the delivery van were not injured but have been left shaken by the events.

"These offenders have been extremely brazen to target this vehicle in broad daylight and therefore it is crucial to find those responsible and prevent them from targeting any other businesses.

"We are looking at CCTV from neighbouring shops and ask anyone that saw the incident to get in touch @MerPolCC quoting 245 of 5th July."
