Man arrested and drugs seized following stop-search in Maghull


Officers on patrol in Maghull have arrested a man on suspicion of drug supply and recovered drugs following an incident in Maghull last night, Thursday 8 March.

At around 9.40pm, officers sighted a man in suspicious circumstances on Hall Lane and asked him to stop. The man ran off and was detained following a foot chase. A quantity of cannabis and cash was found and a further search of a house in Sefton Lane resulted in more cannabis and other items of paraphernalia being seized.

A 19-year-old man from Maghull was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply cannabis and possession of cannabis. He has been taken to a police station for questioning.

Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan said: "Stop and search is a vital power for officers across Sefton and Merseyside and we'll continue to use it when the opportunity arises, to keep our communities safe from the harm of suspected drug dealing and other organised crime.

"If you have any information about crime in your community, come forward in any of the following ways and we will do the rest."
