Man charged following reported assault at Royal Liverpool University Hospital

A man has been charged following a report a member of hospital staff was assaulted at the Royal Liverpool University Hospital on Friday (26 April). 

A report was received at 9.45am that a hospital porter had been punched to the face by a patient in the Emergency Department at the hospital. The victim sustained a fractured eye socket. 

Bernard Creegan, 34 years, of Wellington Grove, Wavertree was charged with Section 18 assault and affray, and remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on 24 May 2019.
