Man charged - three attempted robberies

A man has been charged with three attempted robberies following a series of incidents in Merseyside on 1 February.

The attempted robberies were reported to have happened at MP Food and News, Latimer Street, Vauxhall at around 9.10pm; at Ennerdale Wines, Ennerdale Drive, Bootle at 9.40pm and at USM News and Wines in Cooks Road, Crosby at 10.10pm.

In each incident the offender threatened staff with a knife before leaving left empty-handed. No staff were injured.

David Edwards, 22 years, of Limekiln Lane, Kirkdale has been charged with three counts of attempted robbery and three counts of possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Friday 8 February 2019.
