Suspected artillery shell recovered - Kirkdale

We can confirm officers were in attendance in Kirkdale following the discovery of a suspected artillery shell this morning (Tuesday, 1 October). 

Officers were called at about 8am after the item was found on grounds in Junction Road.

A cordon was set up as a precaution from the junction of Bankhall Street and Derby Road to the Junction with Juniper Street. The EOD attended and have now removed the device to dispose of it safely.
