Two arrested following assault - Church Road, Halewood

Merseyside Police can confirm two people have been arrested following reports of a fight outside of the Reverend Plumber pub in Church Road, Halewood in the early hours of this morning (Sunday, 7 April.)

Emergency services were called at around 12.15am, to reports a 33-year-old man had been injured. He was taken to hospital where he was treated for superficial slash wounds to his abdomen, neck and back.

Two males, aged 18 years from Hale, Widnes and a 17 year-old male from the Halewood area have been arrested on suspicion of assault, they remain in police custody for questioning.

The area outside the pub has been cordoned off for forensic examination and witnesses are being spoken to. CCTV from the pub and surrounding area is also being sought.
