Two men arrested on suspicion of murder of James Halewood

We have arrested two men on suspicion of the murder of 21-year-old James Halewood on 7 July.

Officers were called to Broad Lane. Kirkby at around 12.50pm to reports a man had been stabbed. He was taken to hospital where he sadly died as a result of his injuries.

A Home Office post mortem confirmed the cause of death was a single stab wound.

A 26-year-old man from Kirkby and a 23-year-old man from Ellesmere Port were arrested on suspicion of murder yesterday (Tuesday 16 July) in the North Wales area. They have been taken to a police station in Merseyside to be interviewed.
