Appeal after bus assault, Woolwich

Detectives investigating a serious assault at Shooters Hill, SE18 have issued CCTV footage of two men and a female they wish to identify and speak to in connection with the incident.

At approximately 23:15hrs on 18 May police were called to report of a fight on a bus.

At this early stage of the investigation it is believed that three people racially abused passengers onboard a route 89 bus on Shooters Hill near the junction with Shrewsbury Road. They have then seriously assaulted one of the passengers, a 53-year-old man, fracturing his leg. He was taken to hospital for treatment.

The CCTV images of three people police want to trace are:

Ref: ACP/1 - a white male, approximately 5ft 10inches tall, of slim build and wearing a beige jacket and blue baseball hat;

Ref: ACP/2 - a white male, approximately 6ft tall and wearing a blue jacket;

Ref: ACP/3 - a white female approximately 5ft 5inces tall, of slim build and wearing a beige coat and blue top.

Detectives from the Roads and Transport Policing CID investigate and are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise these people or who witnessed the incident.
