Two arrests after cyclist dies in Enfield collision

Two men have been arrested following a fail-to-stop collision in which a cyclist died.

A 19-year-old man [A] and a 22-year-old man [B] were arrested on Monday, 6 February on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a collision. Both were bailed pending further enquires to a date in late March.

Detectives continue to investigate the collision which occurred in Enfield.

Police were called at 01:44hrs on Monday, 6 February to reports of a collision on Bounces Road near the junction with Exeter Road, Edmonton.

Officers and the London Ambulance Service attended and found an injured 30-year-old female cyclist. She was taken to an east London hospital where she later died.

Her next of kin have been informed.

Formal identification and a post-mortem examination will be scheduled in due course.

The car which failed to stop at the scene has since been located.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit based at Chadwell Heath are investigating and are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision to come forward and speak to them.
