Police are appealing for information following the violent robbery of a delivery driver in Newham.

The incident happened at approximately 18:30hrs on Thursday, 5 April.

The delivery driver, a 23-year-old man was travelling along Ronnie Lane, E12, on a Honda Pez moped when he was approached by a group, described as white youths - aged approximately 15-years-old - wearing dark clothing.

During the attack, he was dragged off his moped and suffered stab injuries to the body and leg.

His moped and mobile phone was stolen from the scene and it’s thought the males made off on Lawrence Road.

The victim was taken to an east London hospital where his injuries were deemed non-life threatening. He has since been discharged.

DC Jon Saddington, from Newham CID, said: "This was a brutal attack which left the victim suffering from severe injuries whilst simply carrying out his day-to-day job.

"His injuries could have easily been a lot worse and I am keen to hear from anyone who has information to help us identify the suspects."
