Appeal after fatal collision in west London

Officers investigating a fatal fail-to-stop collision in west London are appealing for witnesses and information.

Police were called at approximately 02:05hrs on Tuesday, 24 March to reports of a car in collision with a male pedestrian in Harrow Road, W2, near the junction with Bourne Terrace.

Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and the pedestrian was taken to a central London hospital for treatment. He died there at 03:32hrs.

Next of kin have been informed and the deceased has been formally identified as Nizam Uddin, 48, who was local to the area.

A post mortem will be scheduled in due course.

The vehicle, a Green Jaguar XFSport, failed to stop at the scene and enquiries are underway to trace the driver.

There have been no arrests.
