Appeal after man robbed in the street

Police are appealing for witnesses after an elderly man was robbed in the street.

Police were called to reports of a robbery at 13:00hrs on Thursday, 3 August on Eversleigh Road in Wandsworth.

A 71-year-old man had his gold chain snatched from around his neck by the suspect who was riding a bicycle.

When the victim tried to get his chain back, he was punched in the face.

The suspect is described as a black man, aged in his 20s and 5ft 10ins tall. He was wearing a black Lonsdale sports jacket, with ‘Lonsdale’ written in white on the back and black trousers with a red stripe.
