Appeal after man seriously injured in collision in Finchley

Officers from the Roads and Transport Policing Command are appealing for witnesses after a man was left seriously injured following a collision in Finchley.

On Thursday, 17 December at about 23:50hrs a 22-year-old man and a white Volkswagen Golf were in collision on the High Road, Finchley.

Police, London Ambulance Service and London's Air Ambulance attended the scene.

The victim was taken to a central London hospital with serious head injuries. He remains there in a serious but stable condition.

Detectives from the Serious Collision Investigation Unit are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has any information to contact them on 020 8991 9555, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or at crimestoppers-uk.org.

+ The 28-year-old driver of the Golf stopped at the scene and was subsequently arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. He has been bailed to return to a police station on a date in early March.
