Appeal after sexual assault on board a south London bus

Detectives have released CCTV pictures of two men they would like to speak to following a sexual assault on board a bus in Merton.

The assault happened at around 23:00hrs on 11 November 2017 on board a 118 bus from Morden tube station heading in the direction of Brixton.

The victim - a 19-year-old woman - told officers that, whilst on the bus, two men unknown to her tried to engage her in conversation.

As the victim went to leave the bus on Commonside East, Mitcham, one of the men sexually assaulted her.

After the victim left, the two men followed two other female passengers to the upper deck of the bus, before realising these females were with another male and backing off.

The man who sexually assaulted the victim is described as an eastern-European male, about 30-years-old, approximately 5ft 8ins tall, with an average build and dark hair. He had an eastern-European accent.

The second suspect is also described as eastern-European male, about 35 years old, slim build, approximately 6ft tall with short dark hair.

Detective Constable Michael Boultwood of the Met's Road & Transport Policing Command said: "Both men pictured are sought in connection with a sexual assault incident on a bus.

"The Met will not tolerate any form of sexual assault and we strongly urge anyone who has been a victim of in this sort of situation to call police and report it.

"If you know who these two men are, or may be able to assist us in our investigation, please call 101 and quote CAD 5196/12NOV17."
