Appeal after woman sexually assaulted in central London

[Man sought following sexual assault]

Police have released an image of a man they would like to speak to in connection with the sexual assault of a woman, which occurred in Mays Court, WC2, on 27 December, 2016 at 17.00hrs.

The woman, aged in her 30s, became aware that she was being followed by a man as she walked along Southampton Street towards Strand. She went into shops to try and avoid him, but he continued to follow her after she left. He followed the woman to Mays Court where he cornered her and sexually assaulted her.

The woman challenged the man and following a verbal altercation he left the scene, making off in the direction of Trafalgar Square.

The suspect is described as a white male with a dark complexion, aged in his late 20s, approx 5ft 10inches tall of skinny build with high cheekbones, sunken dark brown eyes, stubble and shaved black hair.

He wore wooden beads around his neck, a tight-fitting black bomber jacket without a hood, zipped right up, possibly a green and yellow symbol on the left side, dark jeans, and trainers. He spoke with a London accent.
